How to Create a Safari-Boho Themed Nursery

I definitely think that one of the best parts about being pregnant, is decorating the nursery! I have always loved giraffes, so I knew I wanted to add giraffes into the decor of my baby nursery somehow, but had to do some deciding to figure out what I really wanted. I also wanted the nursery to be gender neutral so that I can use the same decor for multiple future babies instead of replacing everything. I love decorating by starting with nothing (a clean slate) because you can pick out everything and don’t have to worry about replacing things, or trying to match things you already have! I have really been into the boho theme lately too, so I decided to combine safari and boho! Here are a few pictures of how my baby’s nursery turned out!

Tips for Creating a Boho-Themed Nursery

  1. You need to stay with lighter colors. I chose a light brown and white, but you could also go with light pastel pinks and oranges. Cream is a good color too! If you choose to use any metal accents, choose gold metal over silver or cast iron!
  2. Use bamboo and wicker related decor. This really helps the boho vibe come through. I used a lot of wicker baskets in my nursery!
  3. Use some plants, real or fake. Greenery will add a lot!
  4. I didn’t use any mirrors, but mirrors are a big thing for boho style! Cute round ones are my personal favorite!
  5. Beads and Thread can go a long way with this style! If you see anything that has dangling thread/rope or thick, wooden beading, add it to your nursery!

Links to My Decor

I found a lot of my decorations through Amazon. Here is a link to the safari animal prints on the wall above the dresser. Here is a link to the frames that I decided to put them in! The frames were more expensive than I planned, so I’m sure you could find some cheaper, but I love these and they really matched the rest of my decor, so I had to go for it! I also got the macrame that is on the wall above the changing table here. It came as a set of two, but I decided to only use one in the nursery. It was a really cheap, cute option! I just had to steam it when I got it because it came wrinkled. I had SUCH a hard time deciding what to put on that wall though. Here are some cute mirrors you could opt for as well! I also got this cute plant stand on Amazon! It can flip upside down so that it can be taller or shorter, and it can also widen to fit the pot size that you put in it. It is a super simple and cute piece that adds a lot to the nursery!

I got the rug and the fake plant at target, but you can find a super cute rug here on Amazon and you can pick whatever size you want to fit your nursery. This plant is pretty similar to the one that I found at Target, but might even be cheaper! I would just be sure to buy a white pot or wicker basket with it because the black pot might not match very well!

Everything else in my nursery came from IKEA, Hobby Lobby, or Facebook Marketplace (this is the best place to find the best deals!). I have absolutely love putting the nursery together and it has been so much fun! You could definitely have a boho-themed nursery and include any other theme to it! I really liked the Safari idea, but I have seen a ton of cute ideas!

If you have any comments about what I could add or even take away, feel free to share! If you try this out and found this post helpful, please post pictures of how your nursery turned out!
